Breaking News: Tottenham key player Son Heung-Min Has Just announce his departure due too

Tottenham Hotspur’s 32-year-old star is nearing the end of his contract, which expires at the conclusion of the season. However, the club holds an option to extend his deal until 2026.

Having entered the final year of his contract, Son Heung-min revealed in September that discussions about a new deal had not yet begun. Instead, his focus remains firmly on securing his first trophy with the North London club.

“We haven’t talked about anything yet,” Son told ESPN. “For me, it’s very clear. I’m fully focused on this season. At this stage of my career, every second feels incredibly valuable. With so many competitions this year, I’m paying even more attention to everything.”

Two months later, it appears Son is likely to stay at Spurs beyond the summer of 2025. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Premier League side is expected to activate the clause to extend his contract until 2026. Reports also suggest that Son is eager to remain at Tottenham as he continues his pursuit of silverware during the 2024/25 campaign.

Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has enjoyed a remarkable career with Spurs, amassing 165 goals and 87 assists in 419 appearances. His contributions earned him the captain’s armband last summer, cementing his status as a club legend. If anyone deserves to lift a trophy with Tottenham, it’s the South Korean forward.

While Ange Postecoglou’s team has opportunities to end their trophy drought in cup competitions this season, improvements will be needed, and Son must play a pivotal role. Though not at his peak, the winger has still managed three goals and three assists in eight Premier League appearances.

For Spurs fans, the prospect of their iconic captain staying longer is a welcome boost, and a trophy win would undoubtedly be a fitting reward for his dedication and leadership.
