The Texas A&M swimming and diving team will host BYU and TCU on October 18-19 for a two-day tri-meet at the Rec Center Natatorium, marking their home opener. The Aggies kicked off their season last week at the SMU Classic, where the women’s team secured third place, and the men’s team finished fifth.

 

Chloe Stepanek and Olivia Theall stood out for the women, with Stepanek achieving B-cut times in the 100 free (48.68) and 200 free (1:44.22), while Theall placed in the top five in the 50 free (22.97) and 100 fly (52.65).

Juniors Hayden Miller and Mayson Richards also made significant contributions. Miller claimed first place in the 500 free with a time of 4:43.49, while Goerigk placed in the top three in the 400 IM (4:11.30), 200 breast (2:15.09), and 200 IM (2:00.73).

On the men’s side, seniors Alex Sanchez and Thomas Shomper led the way. Sanchez achieved a B-cut time of 1:56.64 in the 200 breast, and Shomper recorded B-cuts in the 100 back (47.12) and 200 back (1:43.60).

Additionally, divers Leonardo Garcia and Mayson Richards earned spots in the NCAA Zones for their performances on the 3-meter springboard, with Garcia scoring 376.80 and Richards scoring 297.20.

The tri-meet will be TCU’s first competition of the season, while BYU arrives after two wins at the Intermountain Shootout. The meet begins at 4 p.m. on Friday and continues Saturday at 9 a.m., with live results available via the Meet Mobile app.
