Yankees star Aaron Judge was named the 2024 Baseball Digest/Inside Edge MLB Player of the Year, Baseball Digest announced on Friday. Judge, who previously won the award in 2022, led the league with 58 home runs and 144 RBIs this season, helping the Yankees achieve the best record in the American League. He narrowly edged out Shohei Ohtani in the voting, receiving 12 of 24 first-place votes.

Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal was named MLB Pitcher of the Year after a dominant season in which he led the AL in wins (18), ERA (2.39), and strikeouts (228), likely securing the AL Cy Young Award. Skubal received 18 first-place votes, beating Braves’ Chris Sale and Phillies’ Zack Wheeler.

Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase was the unanimous choice for MLB Relief Pitcher of the Year. Clase posted a 0.61 ERA, led the AL with 47 saves, and ended the season with 34 consecutive save conversions. He is the first Guardian to win the award in its 12-year history.
