Everton made an approach to signing Yaser Asprilla in late Watford transfer news.
On February 1, the Colombian journalist revealed via his X account that the bids received were insufficient to meet Watford’s requirements and, as a result, were unsuccessful.
Watford anticipates paying more than Everton offered in the summer transfer window as a result of his participation with the Colombian national team.
Everton has struggled to complete deals during the January transfer window once more, and the selling club deemed even the deals they did manage to be close to inadequate.
It would have needed a big offer to persuade Watford to part with Asprilla so late in the transfer window when they would not have been able to locate a replacement in time for the deadline. Asprilla is a highly valued asset at Watford and essential to their improvement in form this season.
The Colombian can play both in the midfield and on the wing to provide Sean Dyche’s team with depth. He has made 27 championship appearances thus far this season, tallying four goals and dishing out four assists.
Since Everton hasn’t made any major roster changes, it was ultimately too little, too late in January. Dyche will now have to perform once more to keep this team out of the relegation zone.
In other Everton news, a recent 777 upgrade has made Shiki more involved at the club.
