49ers Injury Report: Latest Updates on WR Deebo Samuel’s Shoulder Injury.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is “feeling better,” according to coach Kyle Shanahan, but he did not practice on Wednesday as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury he had during the team’s victory against the Washington Redskins last weekend.

Regarding Samuel’s likelihood of playing in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game over the Detroit Lions, Shanahan stated that the receiver’s current state of health “makes me feel better.” The 49ers coach didn’t disclose any more details on the explosive wideout’s condition other than to say that he is still in pain.

Shanahan said at a press conference that “his shoulder hurts.” “That’s all; yeah, it just hurts.”

Samuel was off to the side at San Francisco’s practice, running sprints with a football tucked under his arm while donning a jersey.

Samuel was injured and had to leave the game after just nine snaps in San Francisco’s 24-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers. After taking a hard hit following a nine-yard reception in the first quarter, the 28-year-old was cleared to return but later left the game again with a shoulder injury. Samuel sustained his second shoulder injury of the season; in Week 6, he had a hairline fracture.
